No line at L’Appartement 4F- Did I get lucky?
Stopped by L’Appartement 4F this morning after hearing all the hype about their new spot near 10th Street. I had always heard about the long lines, people waiting for hours, but when I swung by around 9 AM before work, it was shockingly quiet – no line at all! Even the other customers around me were surprised. Maybe I was just lucky, or maybe it's a sign that this trendy spot is starting to lose its buzz?
But let’s talk about the bread! I grabbed a few things and have to shout out the cinnamon roll, which was verified by @Mary Emma , our in-house cinnamon roll connoisseur. She said it was “to die for,” and I’d have to agree! Another highlight was their pistachio/chocolate almond croissant, which was delicious, but honestly, the basics are what really tell you if a bakery is top-notch. The plain croissant and baguette were perfection – just the right texture and flavor.
Speaking of baguettes, my French friend taught me a little trick to tell if it’s a good one: just squish it! A great baguette should be crispy on the outside but still bouncy and resistant on the inside. These guys nailed it.
