Season 48 of Survivor starts on Wednesday, February 26th, so they had a promotional event at Chelsea House in NYC. You had to sign a waiver that they were recording you and could be used for promotional purposes and all that jazz. I found out about it through Instagram. They were initially sold out but dropped some more later on. There was standby too…I have no idea how long people may have waited. There were 5 games you could play. They only gave you three minutes per game. The ones that were races awarded a token to whoever got the most done. I don’t know what the tokens were for, though I did see a merch booth…so maybe that. I had a feeling they only gave you an hour (based on the ticketed time slots), so I prioritized the tribal council booth over the games. I did get to play 2 of them though! There was also a replica of a camp. I meant to take a photo there but forgot/ran out of time. They had directions on how to palm weave for the roofing. The castaways around while I was there (2pm-3pm) were: ▪️Tony Vlachos (winner of s28 & s40) ▪️Sandra Diaz-Twine (winner of s07 & s20) ▪️Kellie Nalbandian (s45) ▪️Rob Cesterino (s06) ▪️Sol Yi (s47) ▪️Gabe Ortis (s47) ▪️Andy Rueda (s47) ▪️I heard Yam Yam Arocho (winner of s44) was around but I didn’t see him ▪️I’m sure there were other castaways at other hours. Jeff was there earlier in the day too. The guy who designed all of the challenges was there too…John Kirhoffer. He’s the one with the hat in the top-right photo midway through the video. I think they did a really good job with the event! Props to CBS.
