A walk to Kite Hill - a hidden SF escape
Today, we set out for Kite Hill, one of the city’s lesser-known gems tucked away in the Eureka Valley. Getting there isn’t hard (we took muni train and walked up from castro), but it’s easy to miss if you don’t know where to look. We took a quiet residential street until we spotted the narrow dirt path leading up. The trail was simple, just a winding footpath through native grasses and wildflowers, but that’s what makes Kite Hill special. The view stretched out in all directions—downtown’s skyscrapers rising in the distance, the green slopes of Twin Peaks to the west, and rows of colorful houses cascading down the hills. If you ever need a breather from the city without leaving it, Kite Hill is waiting. You just have to know where to look.
