Fair Oaks Farms πππππ
My boyfriend and I went to Fair Oaks Farms near Chicago today, and it was pretty fun.
Tickets are $22 per person, free for kids under 2. The main attractions are the Dairy Adventure Tour (all about cows) and the Pig Adventure Tour (cute piglets!), each lasting 1.5 hours. The tours start at a different location from where you buy the tickets, but thereβs a shuttle service to get you there. While waiting for the cow tour, thereβs a playground with cow-themed interactive games and a slide, plus short films about dairy farming. The farm also has a restaurant and a gift shop selling cheese, ice cream, and other dairy goodies.
We only had time for the Dairy Adventure Tour, which was pretty interesting. We got to see the whole process of milk production. The tour is mostly indoors or on the shuttle, so no worries about rain. Just a heads-up: even though the viewing areas are enclosed, there can still be some strong farm smells.
