Had a unique taste experience: Padid NYC 😋
I heard about Urban Hawkers but never got a chance to go, I was starving after a long day of errands so I thought of trying Padid NYC, a Singapore authentic Malay Cuisine spot.
The reason I’m calling it unique is cuz as a South Asian/ Bangladeshi, the appearance of the food looked similar to what we usually eat but the taste is completely different 😱 Most dishes had a sweeter taste to it, which I’m usually not used to.
Here’s my rate:
🍗1. Chicken Satay: 9/10 This was the best!
🥩2. Beef and rice(Not Nasi Lemak, I forgot the name) 7/10 The sticky rice was perfectly cooked, the beef was also tender but it was a little too sweet as I it was my first time trying.
🍜3. Mee Rebus: 8/10 A soupy sweet, sour and hot noodle dish served with hot pepper 🌶️ and fried onions, it tastes even better with some squeezed lemon 🍋 that’s just my opinion.
☕️4. Teh Tarik: 9/10 The tea was the star of the show as I’m a tea lover and that really gave me some energy at the end of the day.
It’s all Halal and all food items are under $23.
