I was visiting my friend in Bayside and she recommended going to Baraki, a restaurant that several of her friends enjoyed. We didn’t have a reservation and it was a Friday evening, so we waited a bit to be seated. My friend wanted drinks, which surprised me, because she’s never been a drinker. Buuuut she has 2 kids under age 5, so…’nuff said! The drinks were pretty cute! It had vodka, passionfruit and Prosecco, along with 1-2 other ingredients (maybe vanilla?). I don’t remember the cocktail name and the website’s menu is outdated. I’m a grilled cheese L💛VER, so the Focaccia Burnt Grilled Cheese on the menu immediately caught my eye. My friend said she’s ordered it in the past and it was her favorite item there, so we shared that. It came with vodka sauce too. She was right—very good. I ordered tacos that had pork and pineapple. I was not a fan of the sauce, and there was something very weird/artificial about the pork. Luckily, I was too full to eat the 2nd taco. Overall, the place has hits and misses, but I think the hits are worth returning for.
