I know when you’re visiting Naples as a tourist you probably want fish, but this French Vietnamese place is really special. It deserves much higher than the 4.1/5 Yelp rating it has. The restaurant is called Le Colonial and is on fifth avenue. The vibes were romantic - great for a date night! I loved the custom tile, indoor palm trees, dimmed lighting, mirrors - all of the design. I got a saigon colada mocktail and my partner got a lychee martini. We loved our drinks. I love a good mocktail - super fun! The tuna tartare was recommended by our server and it was special. My partner and I love tuna tartare, and this one had a Vietnamese twist on it with flavors like soy caviar and lemongrass and a crispy rice wafer thing. The shaking beef entree was more of a glorified steak salad, but was delicious as it was! I loved the presentation and flavor. The acidity of the salad vinaigrette was a beautiful balance to the saltiness and umame of the shaking beef. If you go, I suggest having a light sweater and making sure you got their dress code if you want to dine inside. I highly recommend this restaurant for adults, even if you’re just visiting for a day.
