I can’t wait to talk to fellow How I Met Your Mother fans about my night🥰 This is my ultimate comfort show, so when I saw that The Solids were playing a one-night only concert of the theme song and all of the silly songs, plus having a lot of cast members there, I knew we had to go. We decided to stop at Mcgees Pub when we first arrived to the city to keep our night on-theme. This is the bar that inspired McLaren’s in himym. It’s very themed with shots of the cast all over and relics from the show. I cheated on dry Jan for the sake of ordering “the pineapple incident” - it was really delicious and worth a cheat day, lol. I also ordered the “McLaren’s Burger” which was just simply delicious. As a fan I absolutely loved this bar, but I don’t feel like you have to be to enjoy it. The food and drinks are really incredible, they have many TVs playing sports too. Okay, then the concert. Guys!! It was just so fun. Special appearances included Victoria (Ashley Williams), she sang “Victoria” with the band and passed out cupcakes lol, Josh Radnor (Ted) who sang a few including “Super Date”, Will Forte (Randy) who sang a bunch of songs (and did so really well), and J.P Manoux (not Moby) in full character. It was a really wonderful and nostalgic vibe, and even better - all profits went to raising $ for pediatric cardiology research. They said they’ve done this show 1-2 times in the past and I hope they do it again in the future because it was just a blast. I couldn’t believe it sold out so quickly.
