happy first show of 2025! i saw english at the atlantic theatre company and absolutely LOVED it. this broadway production is just as perfect. this play is incredible. this story follows a group of iranian students trying to learn english for the TOEFL (a proficiency exam). this play required your complete attention. the entire play is written in english. to denote when the characters are speaking farsi, they will speak in advance conversational english. when they are learning english, the characters speak in broken, beginner level english. it’s a fascinating and comedic play. 90 minutes no intermission. a partnership with duolingo is also happening which i think is perfect for this! everyone should go see this play.
