a few years ago, i saw a tiktok hyping up russian manicures. i never had one before, so i was intrigued. i looked into it and found a salon that offered russian manicures in brooklyn called Be Happy Nails. now i go every month! a russian manicure is different from a traditional manicure because instead of soaking the nails, they use an electric file to meticulously remove the cuticles. they paint slightly under where the cuticle is so it still looks good as it grows out. my mani always last at least 4-5 weeks! the girls at Be Happy Nails are so friendly and professional. i usually see yulia, and we talk about things like books we are reading or pop culture news. they always offer coffee, tea, and snacks and the environment is always clean and inviting. the price for a russian manicure depends on the length of your nails, but i usually pay $75 for short nails. if you've never had a russian manicure and are interested in trying it out to see if you'd prefer this method over other ones, i definitely recommend Be Happy Nails!
