I’m on a mission to find and try free study/work spots in the city. Cafes are cute but I’m broke and can’t afford an $8 entry fee everytime I need to get work done. Comment your favorites for me to try so I can start a series! First up is a classic: the NYPL The first time I walked into the main NYPL building I wondered, where are all the books?? I found them across the street, eventually. In the NYPL, there is the Rose Main Reading Room. Only those who are studying can go inside, it’s so quiet you can hear a pen drop. It’s completely free and an absolutely beautiful place to work. When I work here, I feel like I enter a trance and wake up with all my work done. It can get busy but usually there’s plenty of room.
