💪 Barry’s Tribeca: learn to try, but ok to say “nah”
Second try with Barry’s and this time at the Tribeca studio. Definitely a smaller and older studio compare to Chelsea, and no biking RIDE room. The outside looks a little like an apartment building from far so it might be harder to spot, but a pretty good location considering all the food spots around (Last pic of poke I got after class from across the street). I think one of the big things to learn from going to Barry’s is definitely try, push yourself, but also know that you can say “nah” when the instructor says to the class to “raise up that speed.” I’m not big on fitness classes that scream at you, but I never really feel that pressured at Barry’s, I just do what I can. The first times I went I remember how scary it was, not able to catch up with everyone else who knows what they’re doing. If that is the case, definitely go in a little early, settle in, and get a run through of where the equipments are. Otherwise the session is short enough that you’ll feel like you wasted it trying to figure out how to follow through. I like the dark red rooms, and I do like that there are showering and freshen up spaces. It is small though at this location so prepare to wait or shower at home. I would recommend to try it for those who are interested to take classes (cardio and lifting), those who would rather be encouraged and not screamed at during workout.
