The level one improv class at Magnet Theater is for total beginners. It’s 8 classes long and each class is 2 hours. After the classes, your group performs a student improv show at the theater. Learning improv has challenged me and taught me about myself in so many ways. It was just as much a lesson in psychology as it was theater or comedy. After 8 weeks of classes with strangers, we all pulled it together and performed in our very first improv show. I’m honestly so proud of how far I’ve come and how much I pushed through in order to get where I am now. It’s a great way to meet new people, exercise your creativity, and develop skills you can use in other areas of your life! My class was with Dennis Pacheco, who is a great instructor and made all of us feel comfortable. I already signed up for level 2!@
