I witnessed Taylor Swift’s Midnights announcement LIVE, was in the background of a viral meme about Selena Gomez, and am in the audience where Doja Cat emerges from during her performance thanks to 1iota! I first found out about 1iota through a friend in 2022, and signed up to be a Seat Filler for the VMAs. I also signed up for Seated Super Fans and Pit Fans, and ended up being a Seat Filler. I think at the end of the day they had categorized me to be in the Seat Filler overflow, which was technically Seated Super Fans. I got to keep my phone on me and got to record some of the performances and take photos. The second year I went, I had some experience under my belt and made sure to dress up a little more. I ended up being an actual Seat Filler this time, I had my phone locked up for the duration of the show and ended up actually sitting next to stars such as Selena Gomez, Peso Pluma, Tiffany Haddish, and Jared Leto. All in all the experience is wild—it’s always a little disorganized and you have to go with the flow. They also have you report ABSURDLY early, and you have to wait outside in a tent while they organize and corral people. It’s also very long—you end up being there from ~3/4pm all the way until 12am. At the end of the day, in my opinion it’s still 100% worth it for the experience. I recommend packing bars and the dress code they send you is vague, but I would wear something similar to a wedding guest or Bachelor contestant look. I find that the people who dress up a little more end up being chosen to sit next to the celebrities!
