I tried two Barry’s classes, Full Body and the 🚲 RIDE X LIFT. Now, I’m usually not drawn to intense fitness classes. My idea of these classes usually involves being screamed at to DO more, BE better, GO faster, and Im not about that type of motivation. When I saw Barry’s on S’more posts, I was interested, because I am looking for something more stable and structured for gym. So when I saw the 2 free classes with S’more, I figured this would be the chance to give it a try. It was intense… I walked into both classes and felt like Idk what to do. I mean mostly because I’m just not familiar with the sets and the pace, I eventually caught on (some of it), but I guess that’s why places offer 1 or 2 classes free so people can try it and get in the grove a little before diving in. I feel like this was a pretty cool experience, I do wish that there were more instructions. I mean I understand that the class is only 50min each so they can’t spend much time explaining everything every time since the classes are mixed with new and regulars. But, I didn’t even know I would need special shoes 👟 for the RIDE class (pic 2), I feel like that should have been a detail in the emails. You are able to rent the shoes, (they did give me for free), but a staff said “yeah, usually people who have done any spin classes would know that they need shoes clipped onto the bikes.” Now, this does show that there really is just this assumption that everyone there has done other fitness classes even if not at Barry’s. The pace of the classes is FAST, you’re constantly doing something, so the class flies by. I personally liked the riding class more because I’m more a biker than a runner. The instructors were both very energetic and fun. Not screaming at us to do better, but screaming at us to push ourselves just a little more, which makes a difference. I think they were good experiences, but I don’t think it’s for me, too much going on in too short period of time.
