From Tip to Tip: Walking the Length of Manhattan
This was a bucket list moment for sure.
My friends and I took the infamous pilgrimage made popular by the TV show Broad City, beginning at 200th and ending with the view of Lady Liberty and the Ferry.
Tips & Tricks:
- While many take Broadway all the way down we opted for a more scenic route and took Central Park West, then past midtown the Westside Highway and I highly recommend as it’s a less crowded, prettier and honestly quicker route.
- Try to take as few physical stops as possible, with each stop you lose a little steam but many pauses for stretching are an absolute NECESSITY.
- Not to sound like a mom but layers, comfortable shoes and water are all a must!!
- Go with friends! While this totally could be a solo trip with a great audiobook or podcast having friends to play silly games like “would you rather” not only creates special memories but makes the trip go by faster.
- Align with your friends on potential stops ahead of time, it’s easy to become derailed by having everyone want different food or wanting to make different spots so discuss before. We used the Time Out New York guide on google maps to plan a general idea the night before.
- Be aware of construction! We had to double back a few times in Battery Park due to construction.
- Scout out your reward for after! Ours was a Mexican restaurant, but because we hadn’t thought before we had to wait which after a walk like that is like death.
- Have fun! Make memories! While I’m not sure I will do this walk again I am so glad to say I’ve done it!
