Smelly Rave at the Brooklyn Mirage
Raving isn't my thing, but a buddy has been persistently inviting me to join him every week. Plus, the NYC rave scene is quite diverse. Thus, I agreed to give it a shot – it would be a fresh adventure and would cheer him up.
We attended an ARMNHMR “armin hammer” performance, and I had a pretty good time!Despite the excessive sweating from random topless guys and couples openly making out everywhere. The tunes were satisfactory, and the overall vibe was lively. I’d just see random individuals who wanted to bounce with me to the beats, so I had a blast. Though the whole place smelled pretty bad, but my buzz allowed me to disregard it.
The location was indoors, tidy, and there was no queue for the restroom, plus the staff seemed laid-back. You couldn't ask for much more, really. They also provided food and beverages in the lobby.
The tickets cost $50, and considering it’s a club-like atmosphere with superior lighting and sound systems, it's not a terrible alternative. Just brace yourself for the funky smell and the bass.
Would I consider raving again? Possibly, but likely not alone, it's a lot more enjoyable with friends.
