I stumbled on Manhattan Beach in Brooklyn recently, and it turned out to be such a great little find. It is about a 20-minute walk from Brighton Beach, but it feels like a completely different scene—much calmer, less crowded, and surprisingly clean. The water looked clearer, and the sunsets were incredible!! It was the perfect spot to squeeze in the last warm days of summer. The boardwalk and nearby streets have a lot of restaurants to try, especially Russian spots and bakeries you do not see everywhere. I loved that it felt less overwhelming than Brighton Beach and some of the other city beaches—a slower, easier place to unwind and take in the evening!...More
