South Florida Guide
I love Miami Spice (August through September) because I get to enjoy incredible food at a lesser price. Restaurants participating in Miami Spice will have prix fixe menus – $30 and $35 for lunch and brunch, and $45 and $60 dinner specials.
Before you make a reservation, be sure to check the restaurant isn’t doing Miami Spice for lunch only (as is the case with COTE Miami, a Michelin star Korean BBQ spot only doing Miami Spice at lunch).
To ensure I’ll hit up the best spots, I made a spreadsheet of the 2024 Miami Spice restaurants’ names, Yelp rating, Google rating, address, cuisine type, website, and notes. And I made a separate sheet for Fort Lauderdale’s restaurants. If you want this Google Sheets spreadsheet, like this post + comment a “🙌” and I’ll DM you to get your email to send you a link to it.

Miami Spice 2024 is like restaurant week, but it’s August through September. There are 200+ participating restaurants! Patrons are offered a three-course meal from a prix fixe menu.
Several of these restaurants I’ve tried outside of the Miami Spice months. Most of them are good.
Which one do you want to try most?

If you’re wondering what Miami Spice is, welcome! It’s like restaurant week, but happens through August and September. Check out my S’more post about it: https://shortlink.smore.city/QalG
Here are five mistakes to AVOID.
⚠️ Mistake 1: Assuming the menu is available every day/time
Some restaurants only do Miami Spice for one meal of the day or only on certain days of the week. Cote, for example, only offers a Miami Spice lunch menu Monday through Wednesday, and no Miami Spice dinner menu (2024).
⚠️ Mistake 2: Ignoring the regular menu
Not every Miami Spice deal is actually that much of a deal. Especially if you’re going to feel paranoid that you’ll be served a smaller portion just because you chose the Miami Spice menu. Mercato Della Pescheria is an example of this (2024). Read more about my experience here in this S’more post:
⚠️ Mistake 3: ignoring reviews
While dozens of esteemed restaurants are named on the Miami Spice list, there are also some horribly-rated restaurants on the Miami Spice list.
⚠️ Mistake 4: Trusting reviews too much
I saw a restaurant in Brickell that was flagged by Yelp for suspicious activity regarding inflated/fake reviews. One 4.5-4.7 star restaurant I tried was mid, while a lesser-scoring one was incredible. And just like you can’t eat at everybody’s house, you also can’t trust everyone’s opinion on the best spots. I learned this several times.
⚠️ Mistake 5: Anticipating leftovers
Unless you’re eating two lunches or two dinners in one day, I’d give it a 0.01% chance you’ll be asking for a takeout box at the end of your meal. Portions tend to be precisely enough to satisfy your hunger without you feeling too full.
