this place is next to the court st subway station, right next to some classic brooklyn heights stops (l'appartement and books are magic). it's on the 2nd floor with a bright window overlooking the street, and the decor was super cute with vintage japanese movie posters all over the walls
they had a ton of appetizers and even a matcha beer, but we just ordered a bowl each. i had a salmon ikura don, which had salmon sashimi cubes, fish roe, egg and avocado over rice, and my friend got the salmon bowl -- they literally brought out a blow torch and seared the top of the salmon right in front of us! both was delicious and i would definitely revisit.
