This was such a ritual-like experience that where you can relax, recharge, and refocus your energies (also known as qi 气 in Chinese). We did this floral tea tasting which lasted a little over an hour and tried about various types of floral teas. Did you know floral teas are caffeine free, making them perfect for an evening wind-down while getting all the natural benefits.
Started with a chrysanthemum one which is usually what you get a dim sum but those are wild chrysanthemum. Here you get to try a full flower chrysanthemum tea which is super light yet calming and restorative.
We then tried the whole rose tea which was also light yet fragrant. The founder, Lisa, then showed us a mixed tea which included chrysanthemum, rose, and butterfly pea (which makes it blue!). We also tried it with some yuzu marmalade which added a citrus acidity to the tea (and turned it purple!)
Lastly, we ended with a blooming tea which was a peony wrapped within tea leaves that bloomed beautifully while steeped in the water. We were also lucky that it was around Lunar New Year so Lisa was kind enough to also have us try a matcha pandan crepe cake too!
This is such an engaging experience where you chat with an intimate group of strangers from tea explorers to tea lovers. You get to learn about floral teas, their history, and their healing abilities. Right now it’s only select Fridays but Lisa mentioned they are looking to expand their offerings.
Also, it is $25 per person which I personally think is super worth the price point alone. But to sweeten the deal, you also you get a $25 CREDIT to use towards your purchase after the tea tasting. I ended up grabbing a tin of the “Cleanse” Super Flower Tea Blend which I only paid $4 for!!
