Wave3 in Buckhead closed down but The Postcard opened up! They still source from Wave3 for their matcha since Wave3 turned into an online shop, and the matcha drinks use very high quality ceremonial grade matcha. The speciality drinks though, are a pretty small size and no choice to upgrade the size and each come down to around $10. If you are a matcha lover, definitely try this place! ...More

I’ve been obsessed with matcha lately, and so I’m looking all over atl for quality ceremonial matcha. Matcha cafe maiko is good, but it’s also a franchise and they sweeten their drinks a bit too much. The Postcard is good, but for $12 for their special drink with tip and tax? Also not really worth in my opinion (cause let’s be real, in this economy?)
Shogun matcha popped up on my IG feed one day, a weekend I left for out of town actually, and they were having a pop-up somewhere in downtown atl and lowkey i was kind of upset i couldn’t make the pop up. BUT THEN, the following weekend, they decided to have a rsvp only pop up at The Postcard (which i lowkey almost couldn’t go to because the rsvp was sold out). Anyways I did get lucky.
They had a special where you can pick and choose three of their four matcha drinks for around $23 (don’t quote me) but it was pretty worth and their drinks were SO GOOD. The matcha was really good quality and the drinks were unlike any other matcha drinks i had before. I can’t wait for them to have another pop-up. All i can say is, if you like matcha, you have to try them (why must all of the best food be pop-ups tho)...More
