I arrived at the Museum Mile Festival after yet another solo exploration day! Ideal for those who enjoy strolling and taking in the sights, Fifth Avenue from 82nd to 105th Street in New York City is formally referred to as "Museum Mile" due to the abundance and diversity of its museums. This stretch of 5th Avenue hosts various museums that open their doors for the evening as part of the free annual Museum Mile Festival. This summer, I plan to go to new museums/gallery and so museum mile would have been a perfect way to check out new museums. However, the line for each one was soooo long haha. I just ended up walking the street since it was blocked for cars and enjoyed some time at central park. ...More

Today, I went to the Museum Mile Festival 2023 at the MET. I thought it was going to be something related to museums. However, it turned out to be a silent dance event. There are 2 DJs and you can choose to listen to either channel 1 or 2 by putting on the headphones and click corresponding switch. However, the downside is that the crowd is separated from the rest by deck railing, and people will be staring at you while you do your thing. Once I put down my headphone, tbh, it felt quite awkward. 😅 Many people here came with a group of friends, which made the silent dance even more enjoyable.
