I have always wondered what it’s like behind the guarded doors of a private social club in New York. This season, I had the opportunity to attend a holiday party hosted at the Lotos Club as an invitee from a member so I’m also giving everyone here an inside view!
The Lotos Club was featured in shows like the Gilded Age (on HBO Max) and included people like Mark Twain as former members. It is well decorated in the style of French Renaissance architecture. There is a members only restaurant in the floor below and multiple rooms across the floors where members and guests can socialize and muse.
My favorite room is the library with a working fireplace making it feel super cozy inside. If you have the chance to attend an event here I’d highly recommend it!...More
