Recently, I visited Tacoteca Mexican Grill at 1829 John F Kennedy Blvd in Philadelphia. I tried their steak tacos and loaded nachos (minus the fries). The steak tacos were decent, with tender meat and fresh toppings, but they lacked a distinctive flavor to set them apart. The loaded nachos had a satisfying crunch, generously layered with cheese, beans, and guacamole, but they could have used a bit more seasoning.
Overall, I'd rate my meal a 6.5/10. I will go at a different time and not right before closing. Tacoteca is a halal-certified spot, open until midnight, and offers delivery through Uber Eats, DoorDash, and Grubhub. If you're in the area and craving Mexican food, it's worth checking out, especially for a late-night bite. However, there's room for improvement in flavor to make the dishes truly stand out....More
