Sir
If you’re even slightly into tres leches cakes, do yourself a favor and run—not walk—to Sweets & Things at 2715 Fulton St C5, Brooklyn, NY 11207. Just 20–25 minutes from my place with easy Sunday parking, and let me tell you—this place is more than worth the ride.
From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by Yesenia Rodriguez, the heart and soul behind this Dominican-inspired sweet haven. She’s not only the CEO and baker but also the creative force behind every flavor and every smile. The customer service? On point. The space? Dreamy, pastel paradise. The energy? Like walking into your favorite cousin’s house—warm, joyful, and filled with flavor.
Yesenia took the time to guide me through her menu and made sure I left with the ultimate dessert experience. Her passion is contagious, and so is her story—starting this business in 2018 out of love for sweets, working full-time for NYC as a traffic analyst by day, baking with love by night, and relaunching post-pandemic in December 2022 with fire and focus.
Now let’s talk flavors:
I couldn’t help myself—I got every single one on the menu:
4 Leches, Guava, Biscoff, Raspberry, Blueberry, Peanut Butter & Jelly, Cookies & Cream, and Ferrero Chocolate.
Each one tasted like a sweet hug, and Yesenia mentioned that Ube, Guava, and Piña Colada are top customer favorites. With 40+ rotating flavors available, it’s like catching ‘em all in the world of dessert.
This isn’t just dessert—it’s love, heritage, and hustle in every bite. Whether you’re a local or just in town for a visit, Sweets & Things is the kind of place you tell your friends about—and then take them to experience it for themselves.
