I recently checked out Salswee Bakery in Flatiron to try the viral fruit pastries I’ve seen all over social media. Keith Lee’s review really convinced me, especially with how much he liked the pear, but when I got there, they only had banana, cloud, orange, or yuzu. I went with the banana and cloud pastries, plus a chocolate flatiron croissant because it looked amazing. The banana pastry was smaller than I expected, and the filling was just mushy banana with some chocolate mousse. It was good but not mind blowing, though the design was spot on because it really looked like a banana. The cloud pastry was odd at first with its grey color and mild chocolate mousse, but the salted caramel center totally won me over. The croissant was hands down the best I’ve ever had, super flaky and perfect. I didn’t try the drinks, but I’d definitely go back to try more pastries, especially the pear. Worth a visit!...More
