So I decided to try this event in Brooklyn to change up my thrifting experiences and I gotta say, I’d give it like a 5/10. I paid an extra $5 to get in early and I really liked some of the vintage things that were in the store. However, I felt it was a bit disorganized and misleading. As you can see on the flyer, it mentions the $25 fill a bag. I thought it meant in general, I can go through the racks and negotiate pricing. However, that wasn’t the case.
Either way I browsed through and multiple vendors were there selling products. Some had deals at $5 on bags and clothing while others were selling high priced items on t shirts (over $75?)
Some items that were $5-$10 were in suitcases or simply spread on the floor, which I thought was odd. Why would I want an item that everyone has stepped on? So not only did I get so bombarded by people walking into me but then I had to step over people to get around.
Anyway, so I finally realized that the fill a bag portion of the event was upstairs (didn’t know it was two floors. I was not informed at the door). So I decided to go upstairs to check it out. Turns out there are more vendors selling items. Very cute, vintage jewelry, watches, etc. I browsed through and realized there was a small table in a corner of clothing on top and a very long line ($25 bag). I waited for about 10 min before giving up.
It wasn’t the worst experience. Not sure if I’d go again but I did find a nice top. If you have nothing to do on the day of the events, I’d say you try it just to see! Never know if you’d find something. ...More
