I went to the Pure Barre Central Park South for a Saturday morning class through ClassPass. This was my first time visiting this location (I’ve done a few barre classes otherwise) and it’s a fairly small and intimate class. They were very welcoming to new people - the instructor had me come to the front and was good about adjustments and tips. I did a Classic class which was a good total body workout (arms, legs, core, etc.) Some of the moves aren’t intuitive if you haven’t done a barre class before. It’s a lot of micro movements and holds, my muscles were sore leaving class.
They also require grip socks and will make you buy some at the front if you don’t have any. Definitely not cheap, but I think they also offer free trial classes or promo rates for new members. ...More

I went to the Pure Barre Flatiron for a Saturday morning class through ClassPass. This was my first time visiting this location (I've done a few barre classes otherwise) and it's associated with a Cyclebar so it’s pretty large/spacious. It was probably a 20 person class. They were very welcoming - the instructor came around at the beginning of class asking if we were comfortable with hands-on adjustments and gave tips throughout class.
