There’s nothing better than a water view except for incredible cocktails and food. Porter Kitchen offers all of that along the Chicago River for the perfect romantic date night.
The beautiful restaurant serves up classic American cuisine in a classy and relaxed setting. The vibe of the room is energetic with floor to ceiling windows that offer million dollar water views. The music stood out to me featuring classic rock and 80’s classics. I was in the zone.
I enjoyed our oval leather booth facing the water. Everyone in our party had a great water view. The table was made of white veined marble. It’s gorgeous here. Can you tell I’m in love? And I haven’t even had the food yet! We started with martinis because a cool place like this needs the perfect toast. The glassware is stunning. They mix up a great spirit!
Start with the crispy shrimp. The homemade ginger-soy glaze had incredible flavor along with the drops of miso aioli. I also love a good rice ball and the Chef delivered a creative cacio e pepe arancini with parmesan mornay, and a basil arugula salad. It’s money!
I enjoyed the ribeye which was incredible. The taste of the red wine demi was fantastic. It’s a perfect cut of beef.
For the huge win, you must order the Porter cheeseburger. I was blown away with my first bite. It features prime beef, one-year aged cheddar, lettuce, mighty vine tomato, red onion, aioli, and spicy pickles on brioche bun. This is a must order. It’s also refreshing it’s not another smash burger.
Porter is the perfect spot to enjoy views of the Chicago River. I can hardly wait until summer to sit on the patio....More
