I had an amazing opportunity to volunteer a Saturday (7/12) down by the Lincoln Financial Field & Xfinity Live!! I worked with Night Nation Run to help check runners in, starting at 5pm and lasting all the way until 10:30pm! It was incredibly fulfilling; I met a lot of people and I gained a completely new experience!
I am not (by any means) an experienced runner, so I didn’t attempt the 5K that others were running. But the energy in the field was sooo great! (After volunteering, I was part of a CONGA LINE running through the crowd?!?!) There was a DJ who started earlier than 5pm and kept jamming out past the time I left. There was even an after-after party, post the concert!!!!
All in all, super rewarding! I’ll definitely be back next year. If you’re interested, Night Nation Run happens once a year in the summer and they’re always looking for volunteers on Friday/Saturday!!! If volunteering isn’t your thing, definitely sign up to run!! Proceeds go to Stand Up 2 Cancer, an organization dedicated to helping people fight cancer. It was a super amazing event to help, and there will be more upcoming!...More
