We’ve lived in Philly for almost a year now, and never seen any cats around our area. On July 4th though, this little guy showed up and was meowing at me from across the parking lot while my boyfriend and I were walking the dogs. He took the dogs and I went over to say hello, he was terrified of the fireworks. I fed him, and posted on citizens, then brought him inside - hoping someone would see him and maybe he just got out. But upon further inspection, he had multiple mats and burned little bean pads that were peeling from walking on the hot ground. We gave him a bath, some food, and some blankets to sleep on and made a makeshift litter box.
The next morning, we brought him into VEG ER. They checked him for a microchip - nothing - and helped shave the mats out of his fur. We brought him home and decided we’d see how he’d fit in with our crew - he is doing fabulous. So then we scheduled him to get neutered on July 23rd at PAWS Spay/Neuter & Wellness Clinic. It was simple and they even called me hours early to say he was ready to come home! It also cost $80 for neuter + vaccines.
