I love spending sunny spring weekends in Historic Middleburg, or as we like to call it: Horse Country. Just a little over an hour outside of D.C. you’ll find yourself on cobblestone roads that rings back to the founding of this country, including the Red Fox Tavern and Inn, where Washington has stayed and you too can enjoy a fine dining experience.
We walked around town, popping in a bookstore, window shopping the many antique stores sprawled around and enjoying coffees from Cuppa Giddy Up- truly delicious and so many fun choices!
Swipe to see the plaque dedicated First Lady and fabulous icon Jackie O, she and JFK owned a 166 acre estate in Middleburg where their children enjoyed horse riding. So much rich and presidential history in this town alone!
As the skies cleared even more we went up to the Salamander Resort and Spa for games of chess and watching the horses galloping. There’s so much to do at the resort alone, even just sitting in the gorgeous library (that includes a letter on display from President Clinton congratulating the owner for opening it! See if you can find it during your visit) and taking in the beauty around you - in and outdoors - is a joyful experience! ...More
