Checked out Koi Omakase in Brooklyn and was honestly surprised. The 13-course omakase is usually $69, but right now they’re doing a special where two people can dine for that price so it came out to just $35 each.
Super solid for the price — the uni, seared toro, and scallop stood out. Great spot if you’re looking for a more affordable omakase experience without sacrificing quality.

fell for the videos floating around and had to give koi omakase (55 5th ave in park slope, brooklyn) a try for their BOGO deal running until 9/1!
it’s $69 for a 13 course omakase (including miso soup), so about $70 for 2 people before tip and tax. the overall experience was unlike other omakase places i’ve been - the bar holds around 32 people (there were 4 chefs covering 8 people each) and timing is pretty tight as each hour session is full.
the course itself was similar in terms of number of courses and the quality was decent especially for the price, although i did think it was a tad bit heavy with the wasabi. i enjoyed the variety of the fish, and the staff are really attentive and efficient, and surprised us with a desert at the end (we booked for a birthday as a group of 4)
for this price point, it's hard to beat this deal in the city right now. overall, it was a fun experience with some solid variety! i recommend if you want to give omakase a try on a budget!
