🌿 Step into Japan without leaving New York! 🌸 Attending the Kokedama workshop at Globus Washitsu was the perfect way to reconnect with nature and do something inspired by Earth Day 🌎. Tucked away in a quiet corner of busy New York 🗽, the space felt like an oasis where the noise of the city disappeared — almost like stepping back into Japan 🇯🇵. To top it off, it ended up being a 1-on-1 session after two participants canceled last minute, which felt like such an unexpected treat 🎁✨.
Led by the lovely EunYoung Sebazco 🌸🌾, was both relaxing and inspiring. I learned how to create traditional Japanese Moss Balls (Kokedama 苔玉) — soil-filled balls wrapped in moss that hold a live plant 🌱. EunYoung’s warmth and passion shone through as she shared stories about her culture 🎎 while patiently guiding me through the process. She even offered to take pictures 📸 of me while I was designing, making the experience feel extra special. I was so excited to make two Kokedama — one in a classic round shape and another that was more pineapple-inspired 🍍. Plus, EunYoung gave fantastic tips to keep my new plant babies thriving 🪴💧.
The workshop provided everything I needed — Kokedama plant, soil, sheet moss, Spanish moss, and twine — so I could fully immerse myself in the creative process 🎨🧵. And I have to mention the bathroom! 😂🛁 The bidet instantly brought back memories of my time in Japan and added to the overall charm. The ambiance, warmth, and attention to detail made this workshop an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking to slow down, get a little dirty, and create something beautiful! 🌼💚🎉...More
