Swipe for a before and after!
I recently decided to take my changes and get a hair cut at Innovate Salon Academy, a hair salon run exclusively by cosmetology students in their final stage of training! I definitely felt like it was rolling the dice but my hair was long and in need for a trim desperately, and I refused to spend $100s of dollars on a cut, so I made my appointment. I asked for long layers with face framing pieces and maybe curtain bangs. My total came out to $25 ($16 for the hair cut + $9 long hair add on charge), plus tip.
I was surprised throughout the process how attentive and communicative it was, and every step of the way there was an instructor who was overseeing each step. When it came time to cut my bangs she might’ve realized I was nervous and spent extra time being super attentive to my needs. This wasn’t my first time at a student salon so I know that you really should speak up and advocate for yourself if you’re not sure about something. Another tip, make sure to budget for a longer appointment than your standard hair cut, because each step is way more meticulously and slowly completed.
