We went to Gulp located near Queensboro Plaza the other day because we saw some videos on IG promoting it. I’ve only had Taiwanese food a handful of times since moving to NYC so I wanted to see if this spot was any good.
We ordered to go since the space was really small and cute with only 4 seats at the bar - but it was popular since it was filled. The cashier was super friendly and asked me to post a review on Google for a free drink so I did!
I got the lunch bento that comes with the classic lurou fan and chicken along with a few apps on the side. For around $15, I’d say this bento was decent - it didn’t blow my mind but it tasted very homemade and healthy. Would I go back? Maybe, but only to try their other dishes.
Rating 7/10 🍱 comfort food, not mind blowing, great service....More

I recently had the chance to dine in at GULP LIC, a small Taiwanese restaurant (with only 5 seats 💺 ). They have 5 options for the dine-in only combos, ranging from $20-26 and it comes with the main, a big glass of iced tea, popcorn chicken and a big bowl of side dishes (when I went, it was half a tea egg, Napa and vermicelli noodles mixed with a yummy sauce). If you choose to get the beef noodle soup, you get a free noodle refill (though the portions are huge so you’ll likely not need it 😂)!!
Highly recommend dining in (though try to go at off-hours to avoid a long wait) if you’re in the area, the service is quick and you can bring extras home for a second meal!
If you want to grab a drink after your meal, the entrance to 929 is in the restaurant!!
✨ Open everyday from 11:30 am-11 pm or midnight depending on the day, check out their menu at their website: gulpjiabun.com ✨

My friend and I went here for dinner on a snowing day.
We both were very satisfied with the meals we ordered. The space was limited if you want to dine in. We waited for about 40 mins until there were seats available.
I ordered a Chicken & Lu Rou combo, and my friend ordered their Beef noodle soup combo. The beef slices were very juicy and thick, and their braised pork was savory and delicious!
The combo came with a traditional black tea, marinated tea egg, popcorn chicken, and a side dish of flavorful glass noodles.
Definitely recommend this place if you’re looking to try Taiwanese food!
PSA there is also a hidden bar inside the store if you go through the back door. 🚪😉

Gulp 呷奔 is my favorite Taiwanese restaurant in LIC and my go-to when I miss home. As a Taiwanese, I can say this is real Taiwanese food 🥹 not Taiwanese fusion. If you want to try real Taiwanese food, this is the place! They only have four or five seats inside, and it's a very tiny place, so sometimes I choose to pick up to save time and money. The food is served in good portions and comes with a delicious tea egg and some side dishes.
My favorites are their
🥢 Lu Rou Fan (Braised Pork Rice) :
dine-in $22, take out $14
🥢 Beef Noodle Soup:
dine-in $26, take out $19
🥢 Braised Beef Shank Bento: take out $15
🥢 Popcorn Chicken and Radish Cake are amazing, too
