Okay first things first…I didn’t know how popular this place was until I decided to visit early one weekend and the waitlist was closed 🤭. This was the day they started taking reservations so I knew to reserve ahead for next time! You can snag a reservation via the Resy app and be aware, they book up QUICK. I didn’t get a resy until a month later so make sure you’re on the site early.
Golden Diner is fairly small. A couple of tables and bar seating on the inside and some space on the patio. We sat at the bar and it was such a great diner experience. You get to see the cooks preparing each meal, especially the pancakes which is shown in the clips 🥞.
My sister suggested for me to order the Golden Punch and Breakfast Burrito and I’m so glad I listened. The Golden Punch is like a sangria, it was light and refreshing. The Breakfast Burrito was my favorite I would order it every time and it’s vegetarian! Now, the honey butter pancakes were good. I wasn’t feeling them in the moment since I got full from the burrito but once I re-heated them at home, they were AMAZING. They drench the pancakes in honey maple butter with a little lemon zest. Next time I’m ordering the honey maple butter on the side to drizzle instead of drench. Oh, and you need to order the berry compote on the side it compliments the pancakes so well.
The eggs and hash browns were delicious too; more than enough to share. Service was pretty quick and it was very busy which makes sense since it was a Sunday at 2pm. I heard on the weekdays it’s less crowded if you don’t want to wait for a resy.
