If you are looking for a quick day trip idea to witness fall colors with NYC in the backdrop, consider visiting πFort Lee Historic Park in NJ.
The park is full of trees and it is pleasant for a picnic spot overlooking the George Washington bridge.
The George Washington bridge viewing platform gives you a very closer look of the bridge. Stroll around the Fort Lee historic park or you can walk to Ross Dock picnic area.
There are plenty of bikers. I am not sure if you can walk from the Fort Lee historic park to Ross Dock picnic area, but if you have a car, you can simply drive down there.
The Ross Dock picnic area is an amazing for BBQ and great views. You have clean public restrooms to access.
The parking fee is $2.50/ hour up until 6 pm. ...More
