I had a wonderful bike ride the other day on the Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park Trail! I chose to start at the South Bound Brook parking lot in New Jersey, but there seem to be several other trailheads and places where you can park.
It is a very long trail and not very crowded, which I loved! I did about 16 miles, but even though I’m not a fast biker I could have rode longer if I was prepared. The trail is flat, and the harsher gravel near the parking lot gives way to a smoother trail within the first mile.
While the trail is lovely it is a little less shaded than other trails I’ve been on, so I would be sure to wear sunscreen and bring plenty of cold water if riding in the summer!...More
