I had such a great time at Drip Ybor so many different experiences you can have here. Ranging from mosaic art to painting pottery. This is the only place I’ve seen in the Tampa Bay Area that offers an actual pottery wheel experience where you can make your own art with the help of a teacher giving you live feedback and assistance on the spot.
There is a $50 package that offers a two session workshop. The first session is for getting your hands dirty with the clay bringing together a pottery wheel & wet clay experience. After you create the base to your piece, you spend some time designing and adding to your piece to cultivate your perfect design. After that session your work is put in the kiln to harden.
The second session is after 3-6 weeks when you get to go back and paint your piece. This session can be shorter but it depends on how much paint you want to use on your piece. In this session they give options to add gloss or just paint with acrylic, these options depend if you want to use your piece for food to not. This is a nice time to add paint and create different designs around your piece.
I don’t work here and I don’t know much technical stuff about the place but they do also offer different classes and walk-ins. These walk-ins can paint pieces that are already made or create glass art and even just okay with the clay. They also offer a 5-week class where you can grow and create and learn to perfect your technique.
