Head over to Roosevelt Island at the park on the south end to visit this awesome art exhibition. CJ Hendry is, in my personal opinion, one of the more skillful and realistic color pencil artists at the moment. In addition to being able to see her hyper realistic color pencil drawings, you can pick one of the 100k felt flowers that have been created for this event. There are 21 varieties of flowers you can pick and everyone who visits does get one for free. After that the flowers retail for $5 a piece as well as other merchandise that can be purchased at a higher price point.
I would recommend going early and taking the skyway over. The park the exhibition is in doesn’t open till 9 am. I got there at 8:45 and there was around 20 people there and I ended up around that point in line when we moved to the outside of the exhibition at 9 am. Make your own bouquet! Every person gets to pick one flower plush for free. Any additional ones are $5 each. They were all so cute! However, the line was extremely long even when I went before closing at 4pm. Make sure to snag a registration ticket (but still get there very early so you can be towards the front of the line). For those that aren’t able to get a ticket I recommend going an hour or two earlier before opening at 10am to start forming the walk in line.

Today I visited the lovely popup collab of Artist CJ Henry & Clé de Peau Beauté. CJ Hendry’s “Flower Market” exhibition was a giant greenhouse filled with 100,000 plush flowers. They’re soft, colorful, and really pretty to collect. I would have them all if I could.
The exhibition runs from Friday, Sept 13 - Sunday, Sept 15, 2024. I registered over on the instagram bio link. Location is FDR Four Freedoms State Park.
You’re welcome to wandered through the flowers for free! First flower is free, any additional is $5 each. The whole experience felt so fun and truly beautiful. It made the perfect NYC outing for this weekend. ...More
