South Florida Guide
⛪️ I attended Community Christian Church for a few months in 2021 after moving to south Florida. Recently, I’ve enjoyed listening to their Sunday sermons on my way to work. I attended one of their recent 6pm Sunday services and wanted to share my experience.
✝️ Community Christian Church says they’re a Bible-believing non-denominational church. Translation: they’re Baptist, but they think they’re too cool to be Baptist hahah.
⏰ Service times for the Tamarac campus are Sundays 9:30am, 11:15am, and 6:00pm. While the most popular service times are in the morning, I love having an evening option. Sign language and Spanish translation are available at the 11:15am service.
👍 Pastor Scott’s impactful sermons typically include Bible verses, quotes from modern-day Christian figures, and brief story snippets.
🙌 One thing Community Christian Church is great at is inspiring people to be involved in the community. CCC has a webpage titled Outreach 365 with opportunities to serve year-round.
🫶 Another thing CCC does well is providing resources. Would love to say more but I’m running out of characters.
🍞🍷 One thing I think Community Christian Church could do better pertains to communion/sacraments. The bread and juice is meant to be reserved for people who have already committed their lives to Christ, and I think CCC could make that more clear.
💫 I hear CCC’s young adults ministry (ages 18-29) now has over 100 people meeting each Tuesday at 7pm in CCC’s NextGen building. More info: https://communitycc.com/youngadults/
✌️ My reason I stopped attending CCC in 2021 is because I’d just moved to Florida and I found it difficult to get plugged in to a community of people my age there at the time. Mind you, 2021 was a strange time in general. 😅 Someone on staff at CCC referred me to City Rev Church in Pembroke Pines, and I’ve enjoyed attending City Rev since.
