If you know rice rolls and curry fish balls, you know this combo hits different. What makes it even better? The owners, Mr. Zhang and Mrs. Wu, used to serve these exact dishes from a street cart in Chinatown. Now theyβve got a storefront and the flavors are still on point.
I got the curry fish balls with rice rolls and it was perfection. Chewy rice rolls soaked in sauce with just the right amount of spice from the curry. You can pick your own sauce combo too β soy, peanut, chili, hoisin, sesame.
Itβs fast, super affordable, and honestly feels like a bite of Hong Kong in the middle of Manhattan.
Run, donβt walk.

finally visited this local business called ChangLai in chinatown that sells hongkong style small bites like curry fishballs, rice rolls, beef tripe w/ radishes, etc. π
the flavors are pretty authentic and superrr nostalgic, plus it was SO CHEAP- $5 average for most things and very generous serving sizes π€―
the owner was so friendly too π their walls are full of pictures of foodie influencers/celebs that have visited them, it was pretty fun to look at lol
there are maybe 5-6 counter seats inside, but it's a relatively small storefront πͺ...More
