South Florida Guide
Cafe Bastille in Fort Lauderdale is stunningly gorgeous through and through but also very expensive and I experienced a couple cleanliness hiccups. I would recommend this place if you’re rich and visiting Fort Lauderdale for a couple days or celebrating a special occasion.
Cafe Bastille has waterside outdoor seating as well as indoor searing. I love the stunning decor.
My friend ordered a matcha strawberry drink. She found the flavors pleasant but she wished it had more matcha flavor and strawberry flavor.
I ordered the country ham eggs benedict ($19), no drinks. It was tasty but nothing that’s going to make me crave it again. Granted, as someone from the south, I might be being harsh. My total was $24, no drinks.
If I came here next time, I would just order a $9 croissant. The server mentioned the pastries are delicious and very popular. They regularly run out of pastries.
There were two cleanliness hiccups that might impact who I’d bring: there was a small hair (not mine) on my food, and there was a fly buzzing around. No mosquitoes though.
Parking in the garage across the street was $10-11 per hour, so I recommend doing street parking instead.
