When I saw Byte & Coffee has a 4.8/5 star Yelp rating (48 reviews), I had to try it for myself. It’s in Lighthouse Point, which is north of Fort Lauderdale and near Pompano Beach. Byte & Coffee is unique because it’s an Aussie-style coffee shop and a computer repair shop rolled into one. The shop felt very small businessish. Local artwork for sale is on display. I was impressed by the extensive menus. I think they’d be excellent for breakfast. Byte & Coffee offers beef, chicken, and spinach & four cheeses empanadas. I chose a beef empanada because it’s the the baker’s favorite, but she says all the empanadas are loved because they run out of most empanadas nearly every day. The beef is finely chopped, not ground beef. This baker works HARD. 💪 And the beef empanada tasted delightful. I also ordered an almond croissant. My total for the two items was around $11. I avoid coffee during the day, but I wish I’d tried a $4 hot chocolate. I was surprised to learn the cafe hosts a lot of events, ranging from crafting events to game nights to therapists networking events. Check out their Instagram for an updated calendar: https://www.instagram.com/bytencoffee?igsh=NWhjdngwa2hjdWxt When Byte Cafe isn’t hosting events, I think Byte Cafe would be a cool WFH cafe or laid-back indoor hangout spot. Technically I already made a post for Byte & Coffee, but I wanted to add more photos and I’d reached my max photo limit, so here I am with a part 2. 🤗 If you wanna know about the vibe, a tasty empanada, and a lovely croissant, then check out my first Byte & Coffee S’more post here: https://shortlink.smore.city/g2fI On this visit, I ordered a Brekkie Bun ($8.50) and an iced mocha ($7ish). The Brekkie Bun has a delicious balance of egg, tomato, cheese, spinach, pickle, and a special sauce. Sooo many of the drinks at Byte & Coffee look fantastic, and I say my tasty iced mocha is no different. It was foamy at the top, and I enjoyed it. The drink menu has a lot of options, so you’re certain to find something you’ll love. A foodie who came here with me ordered the Reuben sandwich ($17 😳). This person loves bread and lovvvves the bread on the sandwich. They also say the red cabbage was picked exactly enough that it wasn’t overpowering. It was delicious. Tip: Make sure to check the prices at the register. Byte & Coffee isn’t trying to scam you, but they do sometimes make mistakes of the menu prices and register prices being different. Be sure to save this post, and check out my Broward County board/collection for more things to do in the area. 💫 @South Florida Guide ...More
