As an avid reader I have visited a lot of book stores! Here are some of my favorites in the DC area! (Most have a big collection that is fairly priced, especially the used books)
1. Bold Forks Books in Mt Pleasant. A culinary bookshop full of cooking books covering various cuisines!
2. Second Story Books in DuPont Circle. They carry a lot of used and rare books! I have found a lot of interesting books.
3. Lost City Books in Adams Morgan. They have a big collection of used and out-of print books! The prices are higher than other bookstores mentioned but still a great place to find your next read.
4. Kramers in Dupont Circle. A book store and cafe with a very curated selection of books! A great place to experience alone and with friends!
5. Bridge Street Books in Georgetown. Small but a great selection of books! A lot of indie books that you can’t find in many other stores!
6. Fantom Comics in Dupont Circle. My favorite comic book store in DC! They have the biggest selection of comics around the area and also carry the works of local artists as well!
7. Big Planet Comics in Adams Morgan. Good prices and a lot of comics and manga!!
8. The Lantern Book Shop in Georgetown! Another great used book store with a lot treasures and rare finds!
9. Solid State Books in H Street Corridor. Another bookstore with a cafe! Big selection, can sit and relax or explore!
10. Capitol Hill Books in Capitol Hill. Stacks and stacks of used books on 3 floors! Very fun to look around and find your next read! Prices are reasonable as well....More
