First time down the Jersey Shore and this state park was a perfect intro. It had some grassy areas to hike, the beach and lighthouse and a walkway all around where many were fishing.
It was colder than would’ve been ideal but this didn’t seem to be the sort of beach to swim at anyways so it worked out.
Lots of unique wildlife and many places to hang out with picnic tables and benches in places that didn’t intrude on the landscape. ...More

I love climbing lighthouses and Old Barney does not disappoint. With a great view of LBI and Barnegat Bay, it is definitely worth the $3 to climb. Entrance to the park is free and parking is available. ...More
