Just a short car ride from Bangkok (~1.5 hours), this is one of my fave day trips to take when I have family/friends visiting. Ayutthaya feels like stepping into another world filled with temples and Thailand’s historic roots.
It was a special experience taking my family visiting to see the ancient ruins and the UNESCO World Heritage Site. 🛕✨
We spent the day temple-hopping (Wat Mahathat’s Buddha head in the tree roots is a must-see) and of course had to eat the famous giant river prawns. We didn’t stay long enough to catch the sunset, but I can only imagine how gorgeous it would look against the backdrop of the temple. Definitely will have to be back here again! 🌅🇹🇭...More
