This is a very expensive restaurant—but the food is absolutely worth it. Luckily, now that I visited this restaurant I have a hack to enjoy this spot without spending over $100 per person. Here’s how: First, I highly recommend reserving in advance—they often have a long queue for walk-ins. Once you’re in, enjoy the lively atmosphere with classic Lebanese music that adds to the experience. Now for the hack: Order their shawarma. They usually offer 2-4 meat options, so ask the staff for recommendations based on your taste and spice preference. The shawarma I ordered cost $120, but it easily feeds 4-6 people. Instead of splurging on appetizers and multiple dishes, just get the shawarma. It comes with unlimited pita, a variety of sauces, and a generous pile of fries, so you can assemble your own wraps and enjoy a full, satisfying meal. If you split it among six people, it works out to just $20 per person—a steal for a place like this! (Before tax and tip). Feeling indulgent? Pair the shawarma with their Spicy Hummus, Meat Flatbread, or the Lebanese Please cocktail for a truly memorable experience. Life is all about finding ways to live large without breaking the bank! 😉...More

For an exciting evening date or solo activity idea, check out Au Za’taar and their kebab platter for some great, upscale food, followed by a short walk over to the nearby scenic tram ride for just the cost of a Metro Card over to Roosevelt Island for the most incredible, scenic night time views! Be sure to take advantage of the sauces to help enhance your meal and don’t skimp out on the mezzes/ shareable Middle Eastern tapas type plates! This is the perfect two part late night activity! ...More

At Au-Za’atar in East village you can build your own shawarma with your very own table top chicken shawarma loaded with fries. You’re also given toppings, you grab a bread, stuff the chicken and add your desired toppings i.e. Salads, dressings and spices. It is a bit pricey and is good for 4 or more people. It’s too much for only 2 people. The food is actually pretty good 9/10. They also have many other dishes in their menu and a huge vegetarian option too. Also they’re not too pricey. Everyone should try this unique experience as you get to assemble your own food like a Lego so it’s fun and kinda interactive....More
